As the end of the year approaches and the end of people’s patience is near, the last thing on your mind is how to improve your social strategy. Save your brainpower for bigger problems, and let us offer some simple suggestions on how to keep your audience engaged and excited about your brand.

Facebook or Instagram Live Video

Video is more important than ever to include in any social media gameplan. Brands are increasingly opting for transparency and behind-the-scenes content over perfectly curated stock photos. Letting your customers behind the curtain of your day-to-day processes lets them feel closer to your brand and increases their trust in your claims. A live stream can be anything from your team members interviewing each other about favorite holiday traditions to streaming coverage of your holiday office party. Try it out and see what happens!

Polls & Surveys

These two types of content serve a double purpose. Social media users get to participate with your brand and have their voice heard, and you get valuable consumer feedback on what your audience likes, thinks or feels. Twitter is a great place for polling – it doesn’t even need to be in-depth. Even the simplest, seemingly silly questions can give you insight into how your customer perceives you or perceives themselves. An example question could be, “If [our brand] were a classic holiday song, which one would we be?” The various options for responses could reflect if your brand is seen as fun, lively, family-oriented, serious or humorous. The possibilities are truly endless.

User-Generated Content (UGC)

Similarly to the reasoning behind live video, UGC allows a brand to appear more relatable than a product on a shelf. Selecting images that consumers have tagged your brand in and reposting with permission and credit can be a valuable tool in your social strategy. And like polling, this method shows users that their voice matters to you and your brand. Search your tagged photos and/or branded hashtags for content that could be used on your own feed.

Try implementing just one of these strategies into your social calendar this month, and let us know how it goes! Don’t be surprised if you get great results.
