It has been said that a mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take.  Mother’s Day gives us the opportunity to show her just how much she means to us.  There are so many ways to honor moms and special mother figures, whether they live close or far away.  A year ago, the pandemic kept many of us from celebrating Mother’s Day the way we would have liked, but this year we have a lot more options. Perhaps you could take mom out to enjoy the spring weather at the annual OKC Flower and Garden Festival Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Myriad Botanical Gardens.  There will be a large selection of Oklahoma-grown plants for sale, as well as food trucks and local vendors featuring, pottery, jewelry, and more.

Maybe Mom would enjoy brunch on the patio at one of the many restaurants featuring a special menu for Mother’s Day.  Or you could indulge her with a classic breakfast in bed and make her feel like she’s in a five-star hotel–just be sure to clean up the kitchen, too!  Another option is to order a special meal from mom’s favorite restaurant and have a picnic. Nothing says “we love you” like a cooking- and cleaning-free day!  Or she might love some time alone to soak in a tub, read a book or take a nap (or all three!).  She might also appreciate a gift certificate to one of her favorite shops.

If you can’t be with your mom on Mother’s Day, she might love receiving a letter or a beautiful bouquet of flowers.  You could even enjoy a meal together virtually!  No matter how you choose to celebrate, your mom is sure to feel loved.
