Winter Warm Up

Now that the dead of winter is upon us, we’re thinking about our favorite places in Oklahoma City to stay warm. We’re also highlighting women-owned/operated businesses since we’re one too! We’ve compiled a list of 5 of our go-to places around the city and are ready to share the warmth with you.

  1. OK Collective Candle Co.
What says warm and cozy like a brand new candle? “OKcollective Candle Co. is a thoughtfully curated women-owned and operated brand of handmade soy candles that are eco-friendly, super fragrant, clean-burning, and full of personality by owners Jessi and Kelli Newsome.” With every candle hand-poured in small batches right here in OKC, you can trust that each candle is sustainable, local & meaningful.

  2. Urban Teahouse
Owner Kristy Jennings has created something truly special at 23rd & Walker. Her unique blends and soothing atmosphere are sure to warm your soul on a cold January day. “Explore how ancient and modern tea culture comes together in a community-focused environment right here in Oklahoma City. Education is as important as proper pour, and we enjoy sharing more than 100 loose leaf teas that can be savored here or at home.”

  3. Pet Limousine Service
What better way to stay warm than by having Cheryl Steckler of Pet Limousine Service take and pick up your pets from the vet, daycare or the groomer? Cheryl has been in the pet transportation business since 2000 and has the necessary requirements and experience to safely handle your fur baby. “The Pet Limo has transported many passengers including a large snapping turtle named Miracle, a monkey that was spared from a laboratory and sent to a local sanctuary, a pot-bellied pig that had been incarcerated at the animal shelter and lots of pets being shipped to other parts of the world to join their families.”

  4. Mariposa Aesthetics & Laser Center
If you do decide to brave the cold, it’s worth it to make a trip to Mariposa. Kristy Murrow and her amazing staff will give you the 5-star treatment and have you looking like the best version of yourself. Whether it’s a Botox treatment, dermal fillers or skin rejuvenation, you can find these and more at Mariposa. Be sure to check their website for this month’s special!
  5. Sunnyside Diner
For a delicious breakfast or lunch on a chilly day, head on over to Sunnyside Diner. Enjoy delicious food, great coffee, and a thick slice of home-cooked happiness at Sunnyside, where blue skies meet full tummies.”
